PXI 5A Fault Insertion Switch 10-Channel

The 40-196 is a 10 Channel 5A Fault Insertion Switch, primarily designed for the simulation of fault conditions in automotive & avionics applications involving the reliability testing of safety critical controllers. It is designed to be able to insert different fault conditions between the test fixture and the equipment under test: Open-Circuit, Short-Circuit between signal pairs, Short-Circuit between signal pairs and user applied fault conditions e.g. Power or GND. Shorting relays on each channel enable UUT signals to be subjected to external user applied fault conditions or to be shorted to the adjacent signal in the same channel. Relays in line with the signal allow open circuit conditions to be simulated on either side or both sides of a channel signal pair. The switching topology of the 40-196 allows channels to be interconnected so that complex fault insertion systems can be constructed.

CAM/GATE Test Kits
The Camgate ™ series test fixtures provide ‘Z’ axis motion and, with the optional floating top plate, makes this series ideal for top side probing. The floating push plate is accurately registered with two tooling/guide pins. The top plate mounting frame is adjustable in .500″ (12.7mm) increments to accommodate top side probing in the lower position, or clearance for PCA’s with tall components in the middle or top position, without the need for riser blocks. Camgate fixtures are available with the most widely used interfaces in the test industry.

Component Test Fixture For N1413 With B2980 Series
N1428A
The N1428A is designed to operate specifically with the B2985B / 87B electrometer / high resistance meter. It is provided with two component modules, which are used to hold SMD, lead, and various types of devices. Electrical noise effects are reduced by the employment of a shielded case. A built-in interlock circuit enables safe high-voltage measurements. The N1413A high resistance meter fixture adapter is also required to connect the N1428A to the B2985B / 87B.

This panel allows the technician to test the KMD540 MFD as a stand alone item (with external simulators) or together with a radar sensor for a dynamic real time test. Fairview Microwave’s line of coaxial RF probes and RF PCB probe positioner are ideal for use with chip evaluations, signal integrity measurements, coplanar waveguide, substrate characterization, gigabit SERDES and test fixture applications.
