The Nanoworkbench
In light microscopy it is natural to use toolsets like tweezers, knives, probes and several different measurement tools. Without this many present-day products and methods would not exist. The operators of SEM/FIB-Systems generally work without toolsets, although the wavelength limit of light is no physical boundary. It can be imagined how technology would be pushed when a SEM/FIB Workbench reaches the same degree of practicability and utilization as toolsets for light microscopes. Near Field Probes
A typical emi emission test is performed using broadband EMC antennas such as biconical, log periodics, Combilogs and horns. These antennas usually placed at 1, 3 or 10 meter distance as required by the test specification. These is considered far field measurements and the emission limits are given for the specific distance by the specification. During EMI compliance measurements, the emissions levels from products are compared with these limits. If the product exceeds these limits it is considered failing. These tests are typically conducted in a open area test site IOATS) or inside an anechoic chamber.

4 Port Devices
Four port devices can be realized by joining two 3 port devices via the appropriate ports. As system performance requirements become more demanding, new design approaches must be adopted. These include Faraday rotation devices and phase shift circulators. The bandwidth and isolation limitations of 3 port devices are overcome through a distributed architecture that enables more ferrite material to be incorporated into the transmission path, thereby achieving an increase in the biasing magnetic field. Phase shift circulators can be designed to handle higher RF power than 3-port devices.
