Macom Technology Solutions Holdings Inc.
MACOM offers high-performance linear equalizers for use in high speed copper connections for Ethernet, InfiniBand and Fibre Channel. The product line supports NRZ and PAM-4 multi-level signal connectivity and builds upon MACOM’s long-standing expertise in equalizers for broadcast video applications. The equalizers can support up to 112Gbps per lane data rates for 50 Gbps to 800 Gbps copper cable assemblies. In addition to copper cables, the linear equalizer can be used for wired backplane and on-board applications. Adding linear equalization to a passive copper cable can enable the same copper cable to carry higher data rates for longer distances. MACOM’s new linear equalizer product line can extend a typical copper cable’s performance to 7.5 meters at 56 Gbps and 5 meters at 112 Gbps data rates. Customers can consider active copper cables as an alternative to passive copper cables or active optical cables. Key benefits include low power consumption from a single 3.3V supply, low latency, hardware and microcontroller management modes. The products are suitable for SFP, QSFP, QSFP-DD and OSFP connector form factors.

PHG 80 TD -
BAUR Prüf- und Messtechnik GmbH
Cable testing and diagnostics with the BAUR PHG 80 TD. The combination of the PHG 80 programmable test generator with the BAUR dissipation factor measurement system produces the cable testing and diagnostics system PHG TD. It is operated via PC control. Dissipation factor measurement and diagnostic testing sequences can be programmed in the menu, after which the dissipation factor measured values are automatically determined in various voltage steps and a final evaluation is conducted.* Biggest dynamic range of tan delta measured values from 1 to 10-4 with a cable capacitance >10 nF to 20 uF* High resolution +/- 1x10-5 applicable even in new PE/XLPE cables* Insensitive against interferences due to complete mains separation* Lowest time required for assessing a medium-voltage cable (3-phase approx. 1 hour)

McGan Technology
The Wire Testing Unit (WTU) is used in conjunction with the MMPD-8K kit or the MM5KV Kit purchased with the optional HV Red Wire and is used to easily test the continuity of electrosurgical cables used to connect the electrosurgical generator either to the active handpiece (e.g. laparoscopic instruments or forceps) or to the return electrode which completes the circuit between the generator and the patient. If the conductor is broken without damage to the cable’s jacket it can remain unseen and could be put into use for the electrosurgical operation causing the system to not properly function. By using the WTU you can test to ensure that the cables have continuity prior to actual usage in the operating room. This does not preclude the other tests that should be performed on these cables such as visually examining the cable for jacket damage including cracks, pinholes and abrasions and manually flexing the cable.
