Dual Loop Master Controller
The Xcite System Master Controller provides all dual loop functions needed for accurate closed loop control and display of the static and dynamic test variables, while producing the highest electro-hydraulic frequency response. At the heart of each Xcite System is the Master Controller, a compact electronic control package which provides all of the controls and displays necessary to operate a controlled force or torque exciter system. The Xcite Master Controller is unique in that it provides electro-hydraulic excitation over a broad frequency range, unprecedented by any previous electro-hydraulic excitation system. It achieves its great frequency range through the use of sophisticated circuitry, high voltage inputs to the servovalve and compression control of the dynamic feedback variable in addition to the conventional servo control of the static loop. Static parameters such as force or displacement may be matched with dynamic control variables such as force, displacement, velocity, acceleration or strain for maximum test flexibility.

Xpedition
As the industry’s market share leader in PCB design software, the Mentor Graphics® Xpedition product augments mechanical analysis and physical testing by introducing virtual accelerated lifecycle testing much earlier in the design process. This is the industry’s first PCB-design-specific vibration and acceleration simulation solution targeting products where harsh environments can compromise product performance and reliability, including the military, aerospace, automotive and industrial markets. Traditional, physical HALT (highly accelerated lifecycle testing) is conducted just before volume manufacturing, and requires expert technicians, which can result in costly schedule delays. Bridging mechanical and electronic design disciplines, the Xpedition product provides vibration simulation significantly faster than any existing method. ICP® Shock Accelerometers
Piezoelectric ICP® accelerometers afford a very high signal output (+/- 5 volts full scale) and the ease of two-wire electrical connectivity. Their inherent ruggedness enables them to be severely over ranged without damage. The addition of internal mechanical isolation minimizes the high frequency stress that would otherwise be encountered by their ceramic sensing elements. This mechanical isolation, coupled with an internal 2-pole electrical filter, built into the ICP® circuitry, tailors the overall accelerometer response to assure data quality to frequencies as high as 10 kHz. Depending on the specific model, accelerations in excess of 50 kg can be successfully measured. These modern designs, with their internal elastomeric isolation materials are verified through calibration to remain dynamically linear and are enabling piezoelectric accelerometers to operate in increasingly severe acceleration environments.
