Lightning Masts
PLP- 32
PLP- 32 Lightning Masts are recommended for a wide range of lightning protection applications where it is impossible or undesirable to attach conventional lightning terminals. Other models in the series share the same attributes and differ only in height and weight.PLP-32 Lightning Masts provide a cone of protection within which lightning charges are diverted to the mast and grounded instead of to the protected object. Multiple PLP-32 masts may be used to protect extended areas. Protected areas may be determined by use of the widely accepted “rolling sphere” concept. For example, a single PLP-32 mast will protect 9 foot (2.14 m) high portable buildings wholly within a 40 foot (12.19 m) radius. An array of five PLP-32 masts will protect a camp of portable buildings within a 25,000 square foot (2323 m2) area. Consult LBA Technology™ for specific layouts you wish to protect.

Draw Tower Grating
(DTG)
The Draw Tower Grating Chain consists of high strength coated FBGs which are positioned in a serial configuration. Thanks to the special production process, writing the Fibre Bragg Gratings during the drawing of the Fibre, the array can be made without any splices. Furthermore the FBGs can be mounted directly on a structure without coating removal for sensing applications. The different sensing points make use of the inherent temperature and strain sensitivity of the fiber to measure temperature or strain respectively.

Smoke Detector Tester
Solo 365
The fire industry’s most popular range of detector test equipment is about to get even better. Solo, the test equipment used world-wide to functionally test fire detectors has a new tester in its range – Solo 365. This exciting innovation provides fire safety professionals with an array of stand-out features which make for faster, simpler and cleaner functional testing of smoke detectors. Key features include automatic generation of smoke which ensures only the amount of smoke needed to activate the detector is produced – minimizing smoke wastage and eliminating the risk of detector contamination. In addition, Solo 365 is light in weight and has a slim-line design which allows easy access into tight spaces – making it possible to test detectors which are hard to access with other portable testers. In response to market feedback, Solo 365 features an LED torch which automatically illuminates when light levels drop, making for easy detector alignment and testing in dark environments. Smoke is generated via newly designed smoke cartridges which fit neatly into the rear of the tester. With no reliance on pressurised aerosol cans, the cartridges can be easily shipped and stored and are unaffected by new regulations, set for 2018, which will affect availability of some pressurised smoke aerosols.

SINE (Sinusoidal) Targets & Arrays
Sinusoidal Target Arrays have been recognized as a superior test method for a variety of applications, from moiré contouring to reliable MTF Evaluation of materials, lenses, cameras, and electro-optical systems (Follow the hyperlink to learn about using Sinusoids for MTF eval). Sinusoidal Pattern Arrays are manufactured on two different materials for both reflective and transmissive applications. Because of the inherent limitations of reflective materials, the maximum spatial frequency of the reflective pattern arrays is limited to 20 cycles per mm, while the transmission film arrays are offered in various sizes up to 256 cycles per mm. In addition, the sinusoidal arrays are available in a Single Frequency Grating or with Multi-Frequency Gratings. If instead of continuous sinusoidal frequency, you are looking for a square wave frequency design, then look to the Ronchi Gratings page. Should you need to alter the size of the pattern or the substrate, fill out our Custom Test Targets and Charts form and start the conversation.

Firmware
Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are an ideal fit for data acquisition systems as they offer unparalleled real-time signal processing power. Moving functionality from the host PC to the on-board FPGAs helps offload the PCs central processing unit (CPU) and relaxes data transfer rate requirements. This capability is key in achieving the performance levels needed in many of today's leading-edge applications. All our data acquisition and generation modules host Xilinx FPGAs and are delivered with pre-installed general data acquisition firmware (for ADQ7 and ADQ14 we refer to this firmware as "FWDAQ"). In addition to the standard/default firmware, we also offer optional firmware development kits (available for all models) and application-specific firmware packages (available for ADQ7 and ADQ14 only).
