The Analog Devices family of I2C solutions support hot swappable, 2-wire bidirectional bus buffers to allow I/O card insertion into a live backplane without corruption of the data and clock busses. Resistor configurable I2C address translators can be configured with over 100 unique slave addresses to allow multiple slave devices with the same address to coexist on the same bus.
