The 60-983 is an LXI compatible Wired Trigger Bus Terminator (WTB) designed to be attached to the end of a WTB cable. The LXI WTB uses a transmission line cable to connect LXI devices together that support the WTB capability of the LXI standard. Like all transmissions it needs to be correctly terminated to avoid reflections that could change the signal amplitude along the cable and generate timing jitter or trigger errors. The 60-983 is a simple terminator that can be placed at each end of the WTB chain to correctly terminate the transmission line with minimal reflections.

They integrate the complete functions of a computer in to a single module. Both COMs and SOMs are types of single board computers except the fact that both of these are required to be mounted on a carrier board/base board which breaks the bus out to standard peripheral connectors as COM/SOM lacks the standard connectors for any input/output peripherals to be attached directly to the board.
