PicoBuck LED Driver
The PicoBuck LED Driver is an economical and easy to use driver that will allow you to control and blend three different LEDs on three different channels. By default, each channel is driven at 330mA; that current can be reduced by either presenting an analog voltage or a PWM signal to the board. Version 12 of the board adds a solderable jumper that can be closed to increase the maximum current to 660mA. The new voltage regulator also increased the voltage rating on the various components on the board, allowing it to be used up to the full 36V rating of the AL8860 part.

Channels that are sampled and held use a common sample and hold pulse that samples while high and holds while low. Jumpers on each S&H chip allow buffering of analog signals where sample and holds are not required. These cards can be installed in any 5-volt PCI-bus computer that can accommodate "long" cards and are designed to provide effective communication on long communication lines in noisy environments. The data lines are opto-isolated from the computer and from each other to assure communication even when large common mode noise and voltages are superimposed. Type 16550 UARTs are used. These include a 16-byte transmit/receive FIFO buffer to insure against lost data in multitasking operating systems. All ports are independently addressable and an on-board crystal-controlled oscillator permits precise selection of baud rates up to 115,200 baud or, by changing a jumper, up to 460,800 baud.

The PS57 is a combination power supply and 4 1/2 digit LED display for the P55/P855 family of pressure transducers and transmitters. The PS57 accepts 110 VAC power and provides the required 24 Vdc excitation for the transducer. The transducer signal is received and displayed directly in engineering units with bright 0.56 high red LEDs. The user can re-scale the display and set the decimal point by configuring internal jumpers. The analog output of the transducer, 5 Vdc or 4-20 mA, is available on rear-panel terminals.

The LCA-RTC Module provide low-cost, dedicated signal conditioning for a single bridge type load cell or torque sensor. Model LCA-RTC comes with removable screw-clamp terminal connectors, which accept wires without soldering.On- board jumper selections include sensitivities from 0.5 mV/V to 10 mV/V, bandwidths from 100 Hz to 30 kHz, and amplified outputs of 0 to ±5V, 0 to ±10V, 0-16 mA, 0-20 mA or 4-20 mA. Zero and span adjustments are via precision 25-turn low-tempco metal film potentiometers.The units can be operated next to the sensor with 4-wire hookup or at distances up to 1 km (3300 feet) with 6-wire hookup. An onboard 87.325 kΩ resistor allows easy shunt calibration at the push of a button. Provision is also made for a user-furnished calibration resistor. Power requirements are 11.8 to 26V DC with load currents from 10 to 60 mA, the latter applying when the unit provides 10V DC excitation to a 350 ohm load cell and delivers a 20 mA analog output.

Four Channel Low-Noise DC Bias Card

The PI-41702 is a four channel bipolar DC Bias supply that can provide an output current up to 100 mA per channel. The output voltage ranges from –8 V to +8 V, and this card has special filter circuitry to reduce the output noise for those applications that require a low noise bias output. Additionally there is a ‘D’ type connector that allows the introduction of laboratory type supplies to reduce the noise further. To change from using the internal power supplies to external power supplies requires repositioning jumpers. The PI-41702 also has voltage and current sense for remote measurement of the voltage and current levels.

The SparkFun LP55231 LED Driver Breakout is a self-contained solution for developing and deploying the nine-channel I2C LED controller. Remarkably simple, the breakout is equipped primarily with just the LP55231 LED controller IC, plus three RGB LEDs. It also features pads and jumpers for replacing the onboard LEDs with external ones, and configuring the I2C bus, which allows you to daisy-chain up to four LP55231s.
