Short Light Source
LM-AS
The short light source is compatible with the LM-101 or the LMC-20. The light is supplied with a 50 watt tungsten halogen convection cooled light source which provides suffcient energy for use with narrow band pass filters or monochronomators in the wave length range of .35 to 2.5 microns. The light beam is chopped at 200 hz by a quiet, vibration free, synchronous motor. The housing also contains a secondary LED light source and detector for synchronization of the amplifier, plus an electro-mechanical shutter to block the light output when the instrument is zeroed. An internal collimating lens produces a narrow beam (<1") so the LM-AS can be used in bell-jar and large coating systems.

A system of audible beeps helps you find the problem and permit hands free troubleshooting. Have a dead short? Short Buddy gives you continuous re-set/re-power capability, a real time saver. While you push, pull, tug and grab wires, Short Buddy is always watching the current level. If your tug causes the dead short again, Short Buddy opens the circuit for 10 seconds, then re-applies power to the circuit. Re-powering the circuit can also be done manually.

Short Circuit Locator for Power Cables

The A910 is a short circuit locator designed for fault location in power cables. The instrument measures the ratio of the resistances of the two sections of failed conductor using a four-wire "Kelvin" connection, thus eliminating errors associated with contact resistances of the test leads. With the A910 you can determine if the cable has more than a short and locate the first and the last fault. The instrument locates fault with an insulation resistance up to 5 Mohms in cables that have a total resistance greater than 5mohm (approximately 90 m of 300 sqmm cable) and less than 30 kohms. The distance to fault is measured as a percentage of the total length of cable and is displayed on a large LCD display.

The TSXE Tunable Waveguide Shorts are movable shorts, adjustable through at least half a wavelength at the low end of the band. The TSXE Shorts consist of movable noncontacting choke plungers within a straight section of waveguide. The FSXE and TSXE Shorts are provided in five waveguide bands between 33 GHz and 225 GHz.
