Large test room with a hood made of sturdy, highly insulating and transparent plastic, which guarantees a clear view of the test item and the signal lamp during the test. The system is operated on the test device. Alternatively, test sequences stored on an integrated computer can be started automatically by closing the hood. The test sequence can be fully followed on the monitor.

Grid Simulators
Simulator
A grid simulator can be used to simulate the characteristics of low-voltage mains. For this purpose, all voltages and frequencies of the supply networks occurring worldwide can be simulated. Critical states such as short-term voltage dips or voltage peaks (surge/burst) can also be generated.The integrated sequencer function enables the generation of different network parameters, e.g. distorted waveforms and intermediate oscillations. Therefore, grid simulators are well suited for testing conformity to standards and especially for determining the behaviour of electrical equipment in borderline situations. Many European and other international standards are pre-programmed for testing.

LXinstruments Magpie 2 is an advanced evaluation and data mining application for our test database. The data to be evaluated can be pre-selected using complex, easily configurable filters. Based on the selected data, reports and trend analyzes can then be created and statistical investigations, machine and process capability analyzes can be carried out. The administration of the database is also easily possible for appropriately authorized users via a graphical user interface.

An electronic load offers the possibility of testing the specimen under different loads. Various load changes are simulated, as they can occur in normal operation. For this purpose, the relevant load current is set in a defined range and electronically controlled. For the test, different operating states are either programmed or entered into the system via an interface (USB, RS-232, GPIB...). For easy handling and quick use, there are four operating modes.

LED Burn-In Test

Burn-in system, based on LXI instrumentation, for concurrent testing of up to 80 DUTs in a climatic chamber. Devices to be tested include modern light emitting diodes and LED modules.The system consists of 2 control cabinets, each with 40 independent supply and measurement channels. Each channel can be configured individually via the operator software (current or voltage, including the relevant limit values). The software supports logging of current and voltage values for each DUT on all 80 channels with a sampling rate of <1s. Additionally, the software and system also support digital I/O channels, e. g. for controlling the climatic chamber. Inputs for connecting temperature sensors are also provided.

SCOEs and EGSEs by LXinstruments are used during test and validation of satellite assemblies and modules in aerospace applications. As an example, we implemented solar array simulators, battery simulators and high-power load racks for a German satellite manufacturer for testing satellite power supply systems. Due to the high power ratings, the systems are partially equipped with water cooling. Specialized switching modules were developed for switching DC currents at high voltage levels; these can be programmed with SCPI commands via Ethernet.Our modular OTP² functional test platform is ideally suited for implementing durable, reliable test systems, e. g. for in-flight entertainment applications. Since the OTP2 platform is based on open interfaces, it can be quickly and easily adapted to any required communication busses and ARINC interfaces.

LXinstruments Woodcreeper provides a convenient database API for our MySQL test database. It allows manipulation of the database from within the test sequence, for instance when data from upstream process steps needs to be accessed. Third party test systems can also be easily linked to the LXinstruments test database. One license for Woodcreeper comes with the TSCOE4 system license; standalone licenses are also available.
