    LXinstruments Magpie is a user-friendly evaluation and data mining application for our test database. The data to be evaluated can be preselected via complex, easily configurable filters. Based on the selected data, it is then possible to create reports and perform statistical evaluations as well as machine capability analyses. The graphical GUI supports easy administration of the database by authorized users.The LXinstruments Magpie evaluation licenses are always linked to the data source, which would generally mean a test system. The test data generated by the test system will be marked as available for evaluation while it is stored in the database.

    Functional test system for testing PLC peripheral modules. The DUTs are examined with the help of the system before repair and calibrated and finally tested after repair. With the help of product-specific personality modules, the internal cabling of the system can be adapted to various test object topology without the need for a large number of matrix channels.

    SCOEs and EGSEs by LXinstruments are used during test and validation of satellite assemblies and modules in aerospace applications. As an example, we implemented solar array simulators, battery simulators and high-power load racks for a German satellite manufacturer for testing satellite power supply systems. Due to the high power ratings, the systems are partially equipped with water cooling. Specialized switching modules were developed for switching DC currents at high voltage levels; these can be programmed with SCPI commands via Ethernet.Our modular OTP² functional test platform is ideally suited for implementing durable, reliable test systems, e. g. for in-flight entertainment applications. Since the OTP2 platform is based on open interfaces, it can be quickly and easily adapted to any required communication busses and ARINC interfaces.

  • Solar Array Simulator

    Among other things, solar array simulators are required for testing satellite power supplies. An SAS (Solar Array Simulator), consisting of an interconnection of several Solar Array Simulator modules, maps the solar panels and displays the individual strings connected in parallel. Optionally, the individual SAS modules are monitored by a Second Level Protection, so that the test object is not damaged in case of errors with the voltage sources. Additional circuitry is implemented via project-specific test modules. The signal path to the DUT can be separated, e.g. for dynamic current measurements.The Keysight Solar Array Simulators used were specially developed for satellite applications and cover the significantly higher requirements regarding the control speed of MPP tracking compared to terrestrial applications.

  • IVTS In-Vehicle Test Set

    The in-vehicle test set was developed to successively measure several active RF amplifiers installed in the vehicle as well as different antenna structures. It offers the possibility to connect 12 DUTs. The DUTs can be connected to an external spectrum analyser via a 1 to 12 RF multiplexer. Each DUT can be individually switched and supplied with an adjustable voltage via a bias-tee integrated in the system. The individual bias voltages and currents are recorded by the IVTS and can be called up on an interactive control panel or via Ethernet and SCPI commands. The complete system can be powered by rechargeable battery and can be operated either via Ethernet, fibre optics or WLAN.

    Over the years, we have acquired profound, specific expertise in a number of areas, especially with respect to RF assembly and antenna technology testing. To give an example, we have acted as general contractor for implementing a number of rotary indexing tables for testing and labelling antenna amplifiers. The implementation as a rotary table has a number of advantages, since all mounting and test processes, as well as the handling of defective parts, are interlocked and concatenated, thereby effectively eliminating possible error sources during these process steps.

  • Load Simulator

    The load system is intended for testing satellite power supply systems; due to the integration with a solar array simulator and a battery simulator, it can perform validation and commissioning of satellite power supplies. The system is equipped with regenerative electronic loads and customer-specific high-power switching matrices for routing the DUT channels to the relevant loads. The individual voltages and currents for each channel can be read back via a Keysight Technologies switch mainframe.The system is equipped with high electrical power; its loads are capable of feeding the energy back into the power grid.

  • Automotive RF Design Verfication Test System

    The system is used for design verification of RF assemblies. By using similar measurement technology and test software as in the production testers, parts of the test procedures developed in development can be reused in production. The DUTs are tested in RF-tight shield boxes and contacted via original plugs. The shield boxes are connected via N-connectors and other typical laboratory contacts. This allows test setups to be easily modified and individual signal paths to be separated.

  • Battery Simulator

    The battery simulator is used for testing satellite power supplies and is used in combination with a Solar Array Simulator and load systems (consumer simulation) for the validation and commissioning of satellite power supplies. Loads and power supplies in the battery simulator are operated in combination to represent a 2-square function and to simulate both charging and discharging of the battery.

  • RF-Antenna Communication Links Functional Test

    The application encompasses functional tests of very large quantities of automotive antenna amplifiers, plus parallelization of tests by implementing several test stations in a rotary indexing table. The DUTs are inserted manually and after final assembly, they are loaded into the rotary table; this requires manual triggering by the operator.
