The LX instruments GmbH was originally founded in 2006 as a solution provider for all questions relating to instruments and systems of electronic measurement technology. Schwerpunktmäßg our systems are based on the LXI Standard (LAN based Extensions for Instrumentation), an open industry standard.

That is when our development department comes to place. Our colleagues already developed many approaches from little, practicable assemblies up to holistic measurement features. These solutions are customer oriented and together with a special firmware this is often a useful solution.

It allows manipulation of the database from within the test sequence, for instance when data from upstream process steps needs to be accessed. Third party test systems can also be easily linked to the LXinstruments test database. One license for Woodcreeper comes with the TSCOE4 system license; standalone licenses are also available.

  • Grid Simulators

    A grid simulator can be used to simulate the characteristics of low-voltage mains. For this purpose, all voltages and frequencies of the supply networks occurring worldwide can be simulated. Critical states such as short-term voltage dips or voltage peaks (surge/burst) can also be generated.The integrated sequencer function enables the generation of different network parameters, e.g. distorted waveforms and intermediate oscillations. Therefore, grid simulators are well suited for testing conformity to standards and especially for determining the behaviour of electrical equipment in borderline situations. Many European and other international standards are pre-programmed for testing.

  • SMU / Source Measure Units

    Source Measure Units are high-precision multifunctional devices that combine voltage/power supply and various measurement functions in one unit. This combination eliminates the need to interconnect several units, which can otherwise be very time-consuming.In addition to the standard measurement tasks for voltage and current, devices with LCR extension can also be used to determine inductance, capacitance and resistance of the respective specimen.

  • Electronic Loads/Sinks

    An electronic load offers the possibility of testing the specimen under different loads. Various load changes are simulated, as they can occur in normal operation. For this purpose, the relevant load current is set in a defined range and electronically controlled. For the test, different operating states are either programmed or entered into the system via an interface (USB, RS-232, GPIB...). For easy handling and quick use, there are four operating modes.

Developing a suitable calibration concept is another integral task in our scope of work.The LXinstruments drawer adapters support functional assembly testing, including coupling and decoupling of RF signals via aerials in the test adapter. We employ cutting-edge absorber technologies in combination with optimized test cell geometries in order to minimize reflections and standing waves. Our drawer adapters offer unrivalled outbound shielding attenuations of more than 60dB at frequencies of up to 3 GHz.

  • Standard Systems with Modular Design (OTP)

    The modular OTP system (Open Test Platform) is based on a flexible instrumentation matrix plus LXI-based sources and measurement instruments in combination with a high-quality transfer interface for test adapter connections. This system can be easily enhanced with customer- and application-specific functions. This enables us to build systems which exactly fit your requirements, and are at the same time economical due to standardization.The OTP² system platform is now available in a PXI as well as an LXI variant.

  • Burn-In and Run-In Systems

    The concurrent electrical adaption of many DUTs, preferably without any negative influence on the airflow by conditioned air. The test adaptation should also have some thermal capacity, so that the temperature of the adaptation can be controlled with as little heating and cooling power as possible.Another important design point is the use of electrical leads which are designed for continuous operation under extreme climatic conditions.

  • TSCOE4 Operator Interface Software Module

    The TSCOE4 Operator Interface provides a graphical user interface for the operator or the implementer in a production environment. It permits selecting the test sequence and supports parametrization of the test. During the test sequence, the current measurement values are displayed in relation to the relevant limits and the pass/fail evaluations for each individual test. After completion of the test sequence, the global test result is visualized.In addition, there are online statistics available to the user, which show the measurement value distribution within the current batch.The editor which is supplied with the product makes it possible to adapt the user interface language to any new deployment location. Several languages – German, English and Chinese – have already been implemented and are available out of the box.
