Definition:
Environmental test equipment is available for temperature cycling, humidity, salt spray, shock, vibration, random vibration and acceleration.

The performance of products for use in flammable atmospheres can be verified in an explosion chamber. While there is no substitute for tests under actual operating conditions, increasing use is made of simulation software to predict the performance of new designs, enabling a reduction in development cycles, and to evaluate the function of existing models as a key element in the continuous product improvement program.
