Pyroelectric detectors are thermal detectors; i.e. they create an electric signal due to temperature changes in the chip. This temperature change is caused by absorption of light. We do use LiTaO3 and DLaTGS as pyroelectric materials. Basically such detectors cover the whole spectra. However, they are mainly used for mid-wave and long-wave infrared detection (MWIR and LWIR). In addition, the usage in the THz region seems to become more popular these days.

thermoMETER TIM 8 -
Micro-Epsilon Group
The thermoMETER TIM 8 combines the advantages of a robust pyrometer with a thermal imaging camera. Due to its extremely compact size, it can also be integrated into machines and production lines. The spotfinder function enables precise temperature measurements with automatic sensor adjustment. In addition, remote focusing of the lens is possible via a motorized focus. This intelligent spotfinder pyrometer is used in automation, machine building and plant monitoring.

Quantalux -
Thorlabs, Inc.
Thorlabs' Quantalux™ Scientific CMOS (sCMOS) Camera offers extremely low read noise and high sensitivity for demanding imaging applications. The compact housing has been engineered to provide passive thermal management for the sensor, reducing dark current without the need for a cooling fan or thermoelectric cooler. These features makes the Quantalux camera ideally suited for low-light imaging applications such as fluorescence microscopy.

The 6 slot conduction cooled chassis can dissipate 120W in a non-moving air environment. The fin design and wall thickness was designed and analyzed with Flowmetrics software and designed for minimum delta T offset in an average thermal load application. The design was then verified in real life enviromental chamber experiments with a sealed chassis using our 3U heat simulator modules. Data available upon request.

TSA-II -
Medoc-Web
TSA thermal stimulator test procedure The test procedure itself is similar to that employed in such routine tests as eye and hearing examinations, where patients are asked to respond to visual or auditory stimuli. Sensory testing is performed by applying the TSA-II thermode on the patient's skin to heat or cool the skin. Patients respond to the temperature stimuli by pushing a button, and the sensory threshold is recorded and automatically compared to an age-matched normative data.

28017 -
Parallax Inc.
The MEMSIC 2125 is a low cost, dual-axis thermal accelerometer capable of measuring tilt, acceleration, rotation, and vibration with a range of ±3 g. For integration into existing applications, the MEMSIC 2125 is electrically compatible with other popular accelerometers. MEMSIC provides the 2125 in a surface-mount format. Parallax mounts the circuit on a small PCB, providing all I/O connections so it can easily be inserted on a breadboard or through-hole prototype area.

Accolade Engineering Solutions
As new products employ advanced materials and processes, the need to measure and characterize those material properties becomes increasingly important. DSC is used to measure heat flow in to or out of a material. Some DSC applications include measurement of melting temperature, polymorphic transitions, crystallization temperature, thermal stability, heat of fusion and degree of cure. TMA is used to measure dimensional changes of a material as a function of temperature.
