Electric Motor QC Systems
-
Megger Baker Instruments designs and manufactures electric motor test systems for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that help ensure their motors, generators and coils meet or exceed the quality expectations OEMs set with their customers. Baker motor quality control (QC) systems include the Baker WinAST automated stator tester, the Baker HV WinAST and the Baker WinTATS traction armature test system. Each incorporates the most effective electric motor test processes into a single automated instrument and can be customized to meet the specific testing needs of a given manufacturer.

Dynamic Electric Motor Analyzers
-
Baker's dynamic motor test and monitoring instruments are built to conduct condition monitoring tests of motors and generators from a Motor Control Centre (MCC), or through a Baker EP1000 connection unit. The Baker EXP4000 dynamic motor analyser is a low-voltage, AC- and battery-operated instrument that test motors and generators while they are in operation. The EXP4000 provides health and performance data on the motor, the motor's load, and incoming power to assess motor performance and suitability in context of the entire machine system it supports.

Low Resistance Ohmmeters
-
Some times know as Ducter testers, these are highly accurate, easy to operate instruments that measure resistance with resolution as fine as 0.1 micro-ohm. Digital micro-ohmeters and DLROs measure contact resistance of switch and circuit breakers, aircraft frame bonds, and rail and pipeline bonds just to name a few of the applications. Megger has models available for testing using test currents from 0.5 mA to 200 amps covering a multitude of applications that require precise low-resistance measurements.

Cable Test and Diagnostics
-
Cable testing and diagnostics provides information about the cable’s global condition (e.g. the cable’s overall insulation system), and will reveal localised problems, such as poor joints and terminations; it will also reveal localised weak spots in the insulation. Various cable tests are carried out to spot potential failures before they can cause severe outages. Megger cable test equipment provides access to all of the technology needed to make informed cable management decisions through the different stages of the cable’s life cycle.

Insulation and Continuity Tester
MIT2500
-
The MIT2500 insulation and continuity tester has been designed for motor and cable testing, specialist applications and electrical testing applications, where operation voltages exceed 1000 V and higher insulation test voltages are needed. The MIT2500 offers both fixed range voltages of 50 V, 100V, 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V and 2500 V, as well as a variable range that allows any voltage between 50 V and 2500 V to be "dialled in". This is supported by the new test voltage feedback control, which maintains the output test voltage to within 2% of the selected range, even when under test.

Turns Ratio Testing
-
The transformer turns ratio test, or TTR test, confirms that the transformer has the correct ratio of primary turns to secondary turns. Using this test correctly can help to identify tap changer performance, shorted turns, open windings, incorrect winding connections and other faults inside transformers. Megger’s range of TTR testers are robust to withstand the harsh conditions that some transformer testing in. The range includes varying features to simplify and speed up testing as well as 3 phase TTR testers and PT and CT TTR testers.

Photovoltaic
-
For solar panel installations, problems such as insulation resistance degradation or issues with ground/earth continuity can pose a risk to safety as well as efficient operation. Continuous and predictive maintenance is essential to ensure regulatory compliance as well as the prevention of electrical hazards and fire risks, and enables operators to ensure the optimal performance of PV installations.

Contact Resistance Test Sets
-
When a high current passes through a pair of mechanically independent metallic contacts, the resistance must be as low as possible. An increase in resistance can lead to additional degradation, as I2R losses will cause local heating of the contact surfaces. Our range of micro-ohmmeters measure both steady state and dynamic low resistance values. With test currents up to 600A available, logging and trending are also available on some models. We ensure that our Contact Resistance tests sets are portable, making them suitable for field measurements. Our contact resistance testers’ portability makes them ideal for a vast range of resistance testing across the entire LV, MV HV and EHV spectrum.
