The purpose of detailed hydrocarbon analysis (DHA) is to determine the bulk hydrocarbon group type composition (PONA: Paraffins, Olefins, Naphthenes and Aromatics) of gasoline and other spark-ignition engine fuels that contain oxygenate blends (Methanol, ethanol, MTBE, ETBE, and TAME) according to ASTM-D6730. PONA analyte identification is conducted by matching retention indices with normal hydrocarbon paraffins. However, chromatograms obtained in PONA analyses have an extremely large number of peaks and their analytes may be mislabeled. Without accurate and reproducible retention indices, this may result in erroneous PONA ratios. The GC-2030 incorporates an Advanced Flow Controller that enables highly precise flow control, and makes it easy to analyze and identify detailed hydrocarbons. Shimadzu offers DHA analysis conforming to the following methods: ASTM-D5134, ASTM-D6729, ASTM-D6730, and ASTM-D6733.

These detectors are electromagnetic induction type detector designed to detect the number of ignition pulses produced in the gasoline engines. The IP-292 pinches a primary cord (low voltage) and the IP-296 pinches a secondary cord (high voltage) of the ignition coil. The compact, light-weight and clip-on design of these detectors offer a simple and easy detection of the number of pulse. Since the detector and its cord are made of heat resistance materials, these models are not affected by the high temperature in the engine room. These detectors are used with the engine tachometers made by Ono Sokki. (AR-7240B, CT-6700, HT-6200, SE-1620, FT-2500 or GE-2500)

The FDM 6000 is a portable, battery operated fuel dilution meter that determines the concentration of fuel dilution present in an oil sample within a matter of minutes. The FDM 6000 uses a unique patent pending fang design to pierce the cap of a disposable sample vial and draws in the headspace from the vial. The headspace flows over a SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) sensor which reacts specifically to the presence of fuel vapor with a detection range of 0 – 15%.
