Variable DC power supplies are AC to DC power supplies with a variable DC output. The output can be varied with an SCR controller. The AC input power can be single phase or three phases. With single phase AC input, the DC output ripple is very high (50%). With three phase AC input, the DC output ripple is low (5%). This would be a key benefit for selecting three phase AC input instead of single phase.

The full scale range is specified by the end user. A NIST traceable calibration certificate is standard. Many corrosive gases and pressures up to 1000 psig are easily measured. Identical to the galvo-resonant scanner used in our Bergamo® II multiphoton microscopes and complete Cerna®-based confocal systems, the 8 kHz resonant frequency of the resonant scan mirror enables much higher-speed scans than a galvo-galvo system.
