The DMC-41x3 motion controller is one of Galil's latest generation, stand-alone motion controller. Compared with the DMC-21x3 controller, the DMC-41x3 offers the following enhancements: 100BASE-T Ethernet, aux RS232 port, USB port, uncommitted analog inputs, up to 15 MHz encoder frequencies, more program memory, and faster sample frequencies. The DMC-41x3 also accommodates the same stepper and servo motor drives used in the DMC-40x0 series and allows two 4-axis 750 W drives to be installed in the 8-axis controller package. The DMC-41x3 is available as a box-level or card-level motion controller. The unit operates stand-alone or interfaces to a PC with Ethernet 10/100BASE-T, or USB. Gavia AUVs can be fitted with the Teledyne Benthos ATM-900 Acoustic Modem. The ATM-900 Series Acoustic Telemetry Modem is the most advanced, multipath and noise tolerant, modem available. They are designed to meet both the high data rate requirements of commercial users, and the higher reliability, lower data rate requirements of the military. The modems employ two modulation techniques: phase shift keying (PSK), which provides the highest bit rate, and multiple frequency shift keying (MFSK), which provides reliability in a multipath environment, or when the modems are required to operate in a low signal-to-noise (SNR) environment. The ATM-910 Series can transmit data using PSK modulation for reception by a Gavia Modem Deckbox, but receives data using MFSK modulation only. MFSK modulation is a spread spectrum modulation process that transmits multiple tones simultaneously.

Crossing Control Bypass Switch

The XCBS-DL is permanently wired into each crossing warning system, and can be configured with either a removable or non-removable bypass key. Simply connect the track connection harness to the designated track connection terminals. To prevent unnecessary operation of the crossing warning system, insert the key and select "bypass", rotate the knife switch to "bypass" and the crossing is disabled. When in the "bypass" position, a Dummy Track Load is connected to the track wire connections in parallel with the rails and the crossing approaches are shorted, preventing unnecessary activation when track equipment is working in the crossing approach circuit. The opening of one track lead may be desired to prevent unnecessary activation with intermittent shunting on the crossing approaches close to the crossing.
