Pulsed Laser Deposition

Is a versatile thin film deposition technique. A pulsed laser (~20 ns pulse width) rapidly evaporates a target material forming a thin film that retains target composition. This unique ability of stoichiometeric transfer of target composition into the film was realized first by the research team led by Dr. Venkatesan at Bell Communications Research, NJ, USA, nearly 30 years ago while depositing high temperature superconducting (YBa2Cu3O7) thin films. Since then, PLD has become the preferred deposition technique where ever thin films of complex material compositions are considered. Another unique feature of PLD is its ability for rapid prototyping of materials. The energy source (pulsed laser) being outside the deposition chamber, facilitates a large dynamic range of operating pressures (10-10 Torr to 500 Torr) during material synthesis. By controlling the deposition pressure and substrate temperature and using relatively small target sizes, a variety of atomically controlled nano-structures and interfaces can be prepared with unique functionalities.

The SX1 set consists of 3 passive near field probes for making measurements in the development phase of E-field and magnetic field with a high clock frequency in the range from 1 GHz to 10 GHz. The probe heads of the set SX allow for measurements close to electronic assemblies, e.g. on single IC pins, conducting paths, components and their connectors, to localize interference sources. Field orientation and field distribution on an electronic assembly can be detected through trained use of the near field probe. The near field probes are small and handy. They have a sheath current attenuation and are electrically shielded. They can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. They have an internal terminating resistance.

The Model T300 measures low ranges of carbon monoxide by comparing infrared energy absorbed by a sample to that absorbed by a reference gas according to the Beer-Lambert law. Using a Gas Filter Correlation Wheel, a high energy IR light source is alternately passed through a CO filled chamber and a chamber with no CO present. The light path then travels through the sample cell, which has a folded path of 14 meters. The energy loss through the sample cell is compared with the span reference signal provided by the filter wheel to produce a signal proportional to concentration, with little effect from interfering gases within the sample. This design produces excellent zero and span stability and high signal to noise ratio, allowing extreme sensitivity. All T Series instruments offer an advanced color display, capacitive touch screen, intuitive user interface, flexible I/O, and built-in data acquisition capability. All instrument set up, control and access to stored data and diagnostic information, is available through the front panel, or via RS232, Ethernet, or USB com ports, either locally or by remote connection.The Model T300 comes with NumaView™ Software. For high side driving, the voltage source is supplied externally, allowing the module to drive high capacity loads separate from the chassis power supply. Making a product “safe” requires an understanding of “hazards” that exist in each electrical product. Electrical shock is one of the four fundamental hazards. Because of that, it must be a part of any product electrical safety evaluation. Even though a product requires an electrical power source and uses electrical or electronic components, it should not present an electrical shock hazard to the user.Ground bond or earth continuity testing prevents electrical shock hazards. Similarly to a fault to earth, test instruments generate a high current. The standard requires that the resistance between protective earth and any conductive surface on the equipment does not exceed 0,1 Ohm. The test is performed by applying a DC current between the conductive surface and protective earth. By measuring the voltage drop, it calculates the resistance.RMO-E instruments are ideal for testing the protective bonding (grounding) of equipment following the standard IEC 61010-1. Applying current up to the value of 100 A and the ability to provide in the Contin menu (continuous operation) test current for the pre-set test duration (equal or exceeding 1 min) gives a user a possibility to easily check the protective bonding/grounding of the equipment. The full load voltage of 12 V assures proper measurement and accurate result. Finally, an instrument displays pass/fail classification according to user-preset parameters.

It works in compliance with the ASTM D 5334-00, D 5930-97 and IEEE 442-1981 standards. The standard TP02 probe has proven suitability in soils, thermal backfill materials, sediments, foodstuff, powders, sludges, paints, glues and various other materials. The Non-Steady-State Probe (NSSP) measurement method (also known as transient line source, thermal needle, hot needle, heat pulse- and hot wire technique) has the fundamental advantages that it is fast and absolute while the sample size is not critical. Hukseflux is specialised in NSSP design. Special models have been developed for in-situ field experiments. For permanent installation in soils, a dedicated model, TP01, is available.
