A typical application of this series is in a conventional positioning servo system as a complex error processor. The use of the solid state CDX makes possible the design of servo systems that can be digitally programmed by direct computer input to the digital input of the SCDX.

Universal Heading and Track Selector Panel This panel provides a synchro transmitter for Heading and a synchro resolver for Nav converter alignment. The synchros are mounted on industry standard 18:1 dual speed drives for maximum accuracy and repeatability. This unit can be used to calibrate both manual and automatic converters. This panel provides a rear mounted interface connector as well as front mounted tip jacks for independent breakout if so desired. The TA-260 also provides two discrete switches associated with the resolver configuration. The 30Hz/400Hz switch is provided to allow the resolver to be properly compensated for the type of Nav converter to be aligned. The second switch allows you to open or short the resolver rotor lead as may be required by some newer GPS equipment. This panel is lightweight enough for portable use or may be rack mounted.

The Impulsive Test Synchronization Module (ITSM) is a device aimed at generating a digital synchronization signal, to use the PDBaseII system for impulsive voltage PD test. The digital synchronization signal generated by the ITSM, is synchronized with the voltage impulse of the impulsive source (voltage generator). The ITSM must be connected between the DIN channel of PDBaseII and the output of the synchronization sensor (e.g. capacitive coupler). The ITSM provides also a low voltage signal reproducing the impulsive voltage source.

This series of units were designed to satisfy Hi speed synchro/resolver applications where the output data must be fresh and no data staleness can be tolerated. The tranducers utilized are the same as in the regular MDS series, however different tracking electronics are used. The resultant data tracks the input shaft perfectly and is always fresh and accurate at input speeds up to 64 revolutions per second, depending on the resolution. Data in BCD or Binary formats are available, and clean, unambiguous crossovers are guaranteed.

The HSIR is the ground test facility and it simulates various LRUs/sensors interfaced with the HAWK Mission Computer. RIG consists of Industrial computers with Simulation modules, Acquisition modules, Video generator module and video display monitors.
