Frequency Sources

Retractable Sources
Veeco’s retractable sources address fundamental limitations of MBE, including source capacity, source removal for maintenance and system uptime. The retractable source allows an individual source to be withdrawn and isolated from the growth environment with the source gate valve and then removed without venting the entire chamber. The source can then be easily refilled with the same material or a new material before being remounted at standard positions to the growth module, allowing growths to continue with minimal interruption. This saves the user from re-qualifying new source to substrate distances and multiple weeks of downtime by avoiding the process of an entire system vent and bake. In addition, the differential pumping option provides a marked improvement in base pressure around the source to reduce contamination of the source material and provide longer lifetimes for sources in corrosive and oxidizing environments. Diode Laser Driver
D200
The D200 is a compact, DC-coupled fast laser driver, providing up to 4 amps of regulated constant current. A built-in edge-triggered pulse generator produces up to 1 microsecond pulse widths and 2 nanosecond transition times, capable of driving lasers with forward voltages up to 9 volts. A pulse-follower mode is also provided, accommodating externally-defined trigger widths up to 100% duty continuous-wave (CW). Power, pulse width, drive current and differential triggering functions are accessible through a ribbon cable header for embedded OEM applications. A low-inductance laser drive interface permits direct laser connection or custom interposer and flex-cable attachment.

Calibration Light Sources
For wavelength calibration, Avantes offers a variety of sources including Argon, Mercury-Argon, Neon, Zinc, and Cadmium. All Avantes spectrometers are factory wavelength calibrated and do not require recalibration as they have fixed slits and optics. For those customers who wish to do their own calibrations, the AvaLight-CAL light sources can be used for recalibration purposes. For auto-calibration, AvaSoft-Fill provides a calibration procedure to make this easy.

Electronic Test & Power Systems
The EAC-TAVS is a series of programmable high power AC voltage sources. Each system provides a three phase true sinewave output as standard. Each unit is built in a freestanding cabinet. The output frequency is adjustable in the range of 45 - 105Hz. Different frequency ranges are optional, with up to 805Hz possible. An RS-232 and CAN interface are provided as standard. The high resolution TFT front panel displays a host of measurement and setting functions. Besides standard models, other nominal power levels and voltages can be user specified. Single phase and bidirectional versions are available on request.
