Broadband Calibrated Noise Sources
Fairview Microwave’s calibrated noise sources cover frequency bands from 10 KHz to 18 GHz. Their performance specifications include output ENR levels ranging from 15 dB to 30 dB and typical VSWR levels as low as 1.25:1. Depending on the model, calibrated frequency points are at 10 MHz, 100 MHz, 1000 MHz, 2000 MHz and 1 GHz steps. The temperature coefficient of these noise sources is < 0.01 dB/°C and noise output variation is < 0.1 dB/%V.

These coaxial shorts are useful to establish a reference plane, as well as providing certain protections from the environment. SMA shorts and Type N Shorts can establish reference planes. These coaxial shorts are not VNA grade but are often used at lower frequencies for calibration purposes. Included here are the following shorts: 2.4mm, 2.92mm, 2.2-5, BNC, N, SMA, SMB, SMP, SSMA, SSMC, TNC. Note, more options: 1.85mm is compatible with 2.4mm, 3.5mm is compatible with 2.92mm.

Spectrum Marker Generator

National RF, Inc. is pleased to announce the production of a new device, the Type NSG-2 Spectrum Marker Generator. The generator is intended to be used with either spectrum analyzers or communications receivers to mark specific frequency intervals in the RF spectrum. When used with receivers, it is essentially a frequency calibrator, thus making it attractive for use with vintage receivers with analog dials. The NSG-2 provides a leveled amplitude output over nearly 100 MHz of RF spectrum, thus making it ideal to mark frequencies and signal levels on spectrum analyzers. In addition, it may be used with a spectrum analyzer, in lieu of a sweeping type generator, to align lowpass, highpass, and bandpass filters with passbands greater than 20 KHz.
