Impedance Box
An impedance box is necessary for measuring the impedance of a loudspeaker. Listen Inc.’s impedance box contains a 0.25Ω resistance. This value is suitable for most loudspeakers, but may be easily swapped out for a different value by the user if speakers with a particularly high or low impedance are being tested. Single Channel Potentiostats
Potentiostats control a voltage and measure a resulting current. The Control Amplifier outputs power to the counter electrode (also called auxiliary electrode). A feedback loop is established to control the cell potential between the reference and working electrode. This voltage is measured by the input electrometer, that has a high impedance. This current is then measured between the working and counter electrodes while this potential is maintained at the working electrode and reference electrode.

The EM-2108 is a standard test fixture for evaluation of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) of planar materials. The fixture is a section of coaxial transmission line broken to allow the insertion of planar test materials. Although ASTM D4935-10 is currently limited to an upper frequency of 1.5 GHz, the EM-2108 meets and complies fully with both the impedance and SE requirements called out in ASTM test method D4935-10 up to 10 GHz. These results are shown in Figures 1 & 2. The measured data relates to the shielding effectiveness due to a plane wave (far field EM wave) from which near field values for magnetic and electric fields may be inferred.
