The M2p.65xx series offers different versions of arbitrary waveform generators for PCI Express with a maximum output rate of 125 MS/s. These boards allow to generate freely definable waveforms on several channels synchronously. With one of the synchronization options the setup of synchronous multi channel systems is possible as well as the combination of arbitrary waveform generator with digitizers of the M2p product family. The 512 MSample on-board memory can be used as arbitrary waveform storage or as a FIFO buffer continuously stream data via the PCIe interface. In order to implement a 100 % stator earth fault protection based on subharmonic injection, a 20Hz voltage is injected into the generator star point. The 20-Hz generator SGEN-1001 is used in combination with the Band Pass Filter SBPF-1001 in the Stator Earth fault protection. The injection can be performed by connecting the SGEN-1001 and the SBPF-1001 to the load resistor of an earthing or neutral transformer. If an earth fault occurs in the generator star point, the 20 Hz voltage drives a current through the fault resistance. From the driving voltage and the fault current, the protective relay determines the fault resistance.
