The GX5960 digital subsystem represents the highest level of performance available for PXI-based digital instrumentation and features high performance pin electronics and a timing generator / sequencer in a compact, 6U PXI form factor. The GX5960 series consists of the GX5961 clock generator board with 16 driver / sensor channels and the GX5964 driver / sensor board which supports 32 bi-directional I/O channels. Up to 528 digital I/O channels can be supported by the GX5960 digital subsystem. Each digital channel features a wide drive / sense voltage range of -14 V to +26 V (maximum swing of 24 volts) which can be individually programmed for a drive hi, drive lo, sense hi, sense lo, and a load value (with commutation voltage level) – offering the user complete flexibility when creating test programs and fixtures for multiple UUTs. This product is a x1 lane PCIe DIO board available in four models ranging from basic DIO to advanced COS detection and Counter/Timer capabilities. The card emulates an 8255 compatible chip, providing 24 DIO lines. The DIO lines are grouped into three 8-bit ports: A, B, and C. Each 8-bit port is configured via software to function as either inputs or outputs. Port C can be further broken into two 4-bit nybbles via software and configured as either inputs or outputs.

The 724 is a family of CAEN Waveform Digitizer able to perform basic waveform recording and run online advanced algorithms (DPP) of pulse height analysis and dynamic acquisition window. Data is read by a Flash ADC, 14-bit resolution and 100 MS/s sampling rate, which is well suited for high resolution detectors as Silicon, HPGe or inorganic scintillators like NaI or CsI coupled with Charge Sensitive Preamplifers. In the waveform recording mode, algorithms of zero suppression are also implemented to reduce the data throughput.
