Our advanced, rugged, industrial-grade, RS232 / RS485 / RS422 serial to multi-drop fiber optic converters are designed to cover large areas. These converters support up to 255 fiber nodes, and each fiber node can extend the RS232 / RS422 / RS485's distance to 3 miles (5km) for multi-mode converters and cables, or 25 miles (40km) for single-mode converters and cables. Depending on the site situation, these multi-drop fiber optic converters can be configured as a daisy-chain or a self-healing redundant ring fiber network. When configured as a ring fiber network, the built-in self-healing feature allows the data to be transmitted clockwise or counterclockwise; therefore, failure of any individual converter will not affect other devices located on the same fiber ring, making the entire data network more robust and reliable. These multi-drop fiber optic converters have been designed for harsh industrial environments and withstand a wide temperature of -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C), and they come with the options of multi-mode and single-mode, and ST, SC, and FC connectors.

20-bit digital-to-analog (D/A) converter offering 20-bit monotonic performance over the specified temperature range. It utilizes delta-sigma technology to achieve inherently linear performance in a small package at very low power. The resolution of the device can be programmed to 20 bits for Full-Scale, settling to 0.003% within 15ms typical, or 16 bits for Full-Scale, settling to 0.012% within 2ms max. ProScan connects to the sonar and pan/tilt unit, configures each scan, generates full 3D point clouds, and optionally streams output to third party hydrographic software for fusion with other sensors. Data is recorded in multiple file formats: .son (raw acoustic data file for ProScan reprocessing), .txt (plain text record of all point locations and positional data) and .xyzi (industry standard xyzi data for 3D point cloud viewers, registration software, etc.). In playback mode, users can review and reprocess scans to modify sound speed, intensity threshold, multidetect and range settings as needed. ProScan coupled with Teledyne PDS MotionScan, pitch, roll heading and position sensors provides the capability to scan areas to collect 3D point clouds while correcting for motion.
