Lumistar designs and manufactures telemetry products for the flight test and antenna tracking communities. Board level products are manufactured with PCI, PCIe, cPCI bus interfaces as well as continuing support of ISA and VME legacy products. Lumistar products are also available without a PC interface or require an OS to operate. Serial, USB or Ethernet interfaces are used for control. Well documented application software with example code allows users to write their own applications for integration of Lumistar products into their telemetry systems.

The LS-44-QBS contains up to 4 Lumistar LS-40-DB25 Bit Synchronizer Daughterboards in a 1U RackMount chassis with status lights on the front panel and all interconnections through the rear. The design contains an internal computer which runsoff DOS or Windows depending on the version selected. The DOS version boots quickly without the delays required for Windows startup. The Windows version offers networking. The unit can be connected directly to the optional 1U slideout keyboard/display, for setup resulting in only 2U of total rack height. For applications that require many bit synchronizers, a 1U keyboard/Display with KVM switch allows 32 bit synchronizers in 9U of rack height. When power is applied, the computer will operate with the last configuration unless the operator wishes to change the setup. For setup, the keyboard/display is pulled out and the display is flipped up to monitor the process. When the bit synchronizer setup is completed, the keyboard/display canbe closed up since the status can be monitored on the front panel without an external display.

The Lumistar LS-84-EC “Economy Chassis” Telemetry System offers a low cost, high performance COTS solution for a portable quick look ground/remote/airborne station. The unit has a built-in computer running Windows 10 (WIN 7 option) for stand-alonecontrol or can be controlled remotely over TCP/IP. Using Lumistar’s PCI-based or modular line of telemetry products, acomplete telemetry ground station can be configured in a very small space. Functions such as RF reception, demodulation, bitsynchronization, simulation, frame sync, decom, data archive and real-time display can all be handled in this unit. Data can bearchived on an internal solid state drive or external serial ATA or USB 2.0 drive. A laptop using a network connection providesremote control and access to real-time displays. The I/O connections from individual PCI cards are hardwired internally within the chassis, thus allowing a bulkhead mount configuration on the rear panel of the chassis.

Dual Channel Multi-Band FM Tracking/Data Receiver In Modular Style Housing

The Lumistar LS-27-B Modular Dual Channel Tri-Band Tracking and Data Receiver is Lumistar’s third generation of modular high performance FM Receivers. This wideband designs supports one or two independent channels of PCM with data rates up to 20Mbps. The unit includes both an optional FM demodulated output for PCM data, and standard programmable AM/linear AGC outputs for auto-tracking receivers. The design offers 8 IF Bandwidths and 8 Video Filters per channel for each receiver.AC coupling with a low pass filter is employed to ensure a high quality data link with long strings of NRZ-L ones or zeroes. The unit provides a software selectable 10 MHz reference I/O port forlocking local oscillators to a high precision external source or to arrange multiple units in a master/slave arrangement. The receiver’s control and status is achieved via Ethernet, USB or auto-switched RS-232 (or “4-wire” RS-485 in place of 232). When utilizing the RS-422 interface, multi-drop configurations can be accommodated.
