The mPCIe-COM-4SM family of cards feature high performance 16C950-class UARTs. Available in 4-port and 2-port versions, each port is capable of communication speeds up to 921.6kbps in RS-232 (differential modes support speeds as high as 3Mbps) and has 128-byte deep transmit and receive FIFOs. Large FIFOs protect against data loss in multitasking operating systems, reduce CPU utilization, and improve data throughput, while reducing or eliminating inter-character or inter-packet pauses. The advanced integrated circuit with pre-scalar supports a wide variety of custom baud rates, and any rates not otherwise achievable can be supported via a custom factory-installed crystal oscillator (up to 10Mbps!).

Additionally, these signals can be subject to electromagnetic interference (EMI) that introduces noise, having a negative impact on the reliability of the data. The 104-AIM-32 is an analog signal multiplexer conforming to the PC/104 standard. The card will multiplex and condition 16 differential or 32 single-ended analog signals before passing them to an analog-to-digital converter card like the 104-AIO12-8. A system may comprise one to seven of these cards in tandem with one 104-AIO12-8 A/D converter board. The 104-AIM-32 card may be used as part of a large data acquisition system. Model AD8-16 (alternate part number ADA-8) is an economical, multiplexed, eight-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (A/D) and Counter-Timer card for ISA-bus computers. It accepts up to eight differential or 16 single-ended analog inputs (jumper configured). AD8-16 requires a full-size expansion slot. All connections are made through a standard 50-pin connector. Base I/O address selection is via dip switch.Analog inputs are multiplexed, amplified, held by a sample and hold amplifier, and then digitized by an eight-bit A/D converter. Amplifier gain is selected by software and can differ from channel to channel.

16 Channel, 12-Bit Analog Input PCI Card
PCI-AI12-16A
Model PCI-AI12-16 is a multifunction, high-speed, analog-to-digital converter board for use in PCI-Bus computers. It accepts up to 16 single-ended or eight differential inputs. The board uses a low-noise, multilayer printed circuit board. Inputs are protected against overvoltage conditions up to ±35 volts and typically survive static discharges beyond 4000 volts.
