The PCI-COM2S and PCI-422/485-2 are dual-port, asynchronous serial communications cards designed for use in PCI-Bus computers. They are 6.5 inches (165 mm) long and may be installed in any 5V PCI slot in IBM and compatible computers. Each independent port supports RS-422 and RS-485 balanced-mode transmission/reception, and on the PCI-COM2S, RS-232 single-ended transmission/reception as well.

104i-COM-8SM Family
The 104i-COM-8SM (PCI-104) family of multi-port, multi-protocol (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485), serial communication boards deliver up to eight high-speed serial communication ports for use in a wide variety of applications. The boards were developed for use by system integrators and manufacturers in the design of industrial and commercial systems. Based on the XR17D158, the boards have eight enhanced 16550 UARTs, each with a set of modem signals (CTS, RTS, RI, DTR, DSR, CD) in RS-232 mode.

Digital Input/Output Card

This is a 144-bit full-size card. A Programmable Peripheral Interface chip, type 8255-5 provides three 8-bit ports (A, B, and C) for each 24-bit group. Each port can be independently programmed for either input or output. Port C can also be configured as two 4-bit ports. These cards fully implement Mode 0 of the 8255 PPI chip. (Consult the factory if you desire to operate in Mode 1.) Type LS245 bi-directional transceivers sink 24 mA (optionally 64 mA) and source 15 mA. These transceiver buffers provide hysteresis correction on inputs and added drive capability on outputs. The direction of the transceivers is set by software.

The 104-AIM-32 is an analog signal multiplexer conforming to the PC/104 standard. The card will multiplex and condition 16 differential or 32 single-ended analog signals before passing them to an analog-to-digital converter card like the 104-AIO12-8. A system may comprise one to seven of these cards in tandem with one 104-AIO12-8 A/D converter board. The 104-AIM-32 card may be used as part of a large data acquisition system. The 104-AIM-32A Kit consists of one 104-AIM-32 and one 12-bit 8-input A/D board.
