The JI-4040 module is a versatile, easy-to-use device for adding universal digital I/O capability to acomputer system via a USB connection. The module is comprised of 36 bidirectional I/O channels and 2 Special Function Ports (SFP). The SFP can be software programmed as a variable duty-cycle clock/pulse generator, event counter, or interval/pulse timer. The I/O is selectable to interface 5.0 V, 3.3 V, 2.5 V, or 1.8 V systems. Host to module isolation eliminates ground-loops and provides protection from noise and switching transients on external signals. Motor Termination Units
Since the rise time of IGBTs are in the range of a few tens of nanoseconds (between 50ns-200ns), even short cables between PWM motor drives and motors cause voltage doubling at the motor terminals due to Travelling Wave Phenomenon as in transmission lines. The insulation of motor windings are prone to failure due to high voltage spikes if necessary precautions are not sufficiently taken. RC Type Output Filter Modules reduce these high voltage spikes to protect motors by connecting to stator terminals.

Digital-to-Analog (D/A) module DA5 provides 4 independent D/A output channels (half-bridge) utilizing a single external supplied power source with full-scale operating range of 0-65 VDC (V-control mode) and 0-2 A (I-control mode). Alternatively, two channels can be paired (full-bridge) to achieve a full-scale operating range of ±65 V and ±2 A from a single external supplied power source. Linearity/accuracy is ±1% FS range over temperature. The DA5 provides either voltage or current control loop modes, which are programmable for the application.
