Temperature and humidity testing determines how components, subsystems and complete systems behave in severe environments that involve elevated temperatures and high or fluctuating relative humidity. The tests can be static with constant temperature and humidity, they can involve the cycling of both, they can be temperature-humidity bias tests (where the moisture is used to induce a failure in an electrical device) or some combination of all of these.

NFA-Series -
Mountz Inc.
Engineered for automation and robotic torque applications, the NFA-Series robotic electric screwdrivers feature a high performance brushless motor design that provide durability and reduce the common maintenance costs associated brush type electric screwdrivers. The durable automation tools deliver reliability and precision torque control at every turn. The assembly automation tools ensures accuracy with a precision automatic shut-off clutch once the preset torque is achieved in the fastening process. The NFA tools are ESD safe, ensuring less than 1 Ohm at the bit tip. ESD management in power tools ensures product quality, cost savings and a reduction in overall ESD failures. Engineers involved with microelectronic products are aware of the importance of controlling Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) failures. Lapses in preventing the occurrence of electrostatic discharge can affect production yields, manufacturing costs, product quality & reliability, reputation and profitability.

Eclypse International
Circuit breakers are often overlooked during maintenance of electrical systems in aircraft, or often only verified for open and closed states. To test the true functional purpose of a circuit breaker it requires the application of current in excess of the rated trip value and then measure the time for the breaker to actually trip. This is the only way to verify that a circuit breaker will react as designed if an electrical failure occurs.

To determine the failure point or break strength, you will need to define what a break is (break detector). Generally, there are two common types of breaks: the sharp break is referred to the measurement when load or force drops by 5% from its peak load measurement. A percentage break is another form of break and is generally determined by the sample material and its relationship to load degradation from a peak load measurement. A plastic material will likely have a load drop of 5%, but not represent a break. In this case, a percentage break would need to be applied. In a tensile test, the breaking load is the break strength.

Cadence Design Systems
A major new challenge at 20nm/14nm is the requirement for extra masks (double patterning technology, or DPT) to make existing lithography work at this advanced node. Read 20 questions on 20nm - a Q&A document. Escalating data volume and denser, more complex chips are testing the limits of traditional routing architectures. Even the slightest perturbations in the design flow can cause dramatic swings in design integrity. Engineers face a predictability crisis riddled with silicon failures, performance degradation, and prolonged design schedules. And new process and design innovationshigh-k metal gate, SOI, 3D-IC packagingare intensifying the pressures of adoption and rapid deployment.
