Grid Simulators
A grid simulator can be used to simulate the characteristics of low-voltage mains. For this purpose, all voltages and frequencies of the supply networks occurring worldwide can be simulated. Critical states such as short-term voltage dips or voltage peaks (surge/burst) can also be generated.The integrated sequencer function enables the generation of different network parameters, e.g. distorted waveforms and intermediate oscillations. Therefore, grid simulators are well suited for testing conformity to standards and especially for determining the behaviour of electrical equipment in borderline situations. Many European and other international standards are pre-programmed for testing.

The card can provides a setting resolution of <90mΩ (also available in <8mΩ - PT100) and a resistance accuracy of better than 0.1% on all channels. Flashlight Solar Simulators have the advantage of negligible temperature change to the solar cell. For this reason, they are primarily used in cell and module production environments. Also, they are a more budgetary alternative if large cell areas are to be illuminated, because it is easier to have excellent light uniformity on areas of 8 in x 8 in or larger. So, this type of solar simulator is also used for analysis of large area thin film solar cells. But care must be taken, as some materials (e.g. CIGS) have long inherent time constants, so that the pulse length (better: flash plateau) must be chosen accordingly.
