The M8KDiscrete module provides a complete solution for developing and testing discrete voltage-level interfaces. The M8KDiscrete contains control I/O registers that are memory-mapped and may be accessed in real time. In addition, the module can record changes in the input discrete with an associated time tag via a built-in FIFO. Optimized for sensing up to 24V inputs, the 8004H PCI digital I/O interface provides 16 optically isolated inputs and 16 Reed relay outputs. The inputs protect the computer equipment from spikes and ground loop current that can be generated in industrial environments, while the outputs provide high quality, long-life, low-current (10 Watt maximum), dry contact switch closures. The relays are normally open, and close when energized.
