The NI‑5791 provides continuous frequency coverage from 200 MHz to 4.4 GHz. It features a single-stage, direct conversion architecture that provides high bandwidth in the small form factor of a FlexRIO adapter module. The onboard synthesizer, which is the local oscillator (LO), sets the center frequency for acquisition and generation, and you can export it to other modules for multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) synchronization. You can also import the LO from an external connector, enabling synchronization of up to eight NI‑5791 modules. For higher frequencies or a greater number of devices, you can use an external LO distribution amplifier.

The 40-837A-001 (PXI) and 42-837A-001 (PXIe) are 75Ω 2x2 RF matrices with 1 bank in a single slot. Loop-thru connections are provided on both the X and Y axis allowing the attachment of terminations for unused signals or for expansion to other matrices. Larger matrices are easily built with varied X and Y dimensions, such as 8x2 and 4x4 using multiple 40/42-837A modules.

Modular Matrices include two ranges: - The LDX+ range provides a cost effective modular solution for budget sensitive projects requiring fewer advance features at shorter Cat 6 cable lengths of up to 70m.- The MDX+ range incorporates the videowall processor technology which allows a number of output blades to be grouped together to form a multi display video mosaic or wall. They are available in 50 Ω or 75 Ω versions with SMB connectors or in 50 Ω versions with a multiway connector.
