Miniature Single Axis Accelerometers
Miniature piezoelectric accelerometers are required for applications demanding high frequency range, small size, and low weight. Product testing is necessary in today’s competitive marketplace in order to optimize designs, reduce defects, and improve customer acceptance and satisfaction. Shock and vibration testing offers a structured approach for verifying survivability in environmental influences that may be encountered during service and for precipitating incipient failures so they are not encountered by the end-user. PCB® accelerometers are used extensively for monitoring an object’s response to a programmed vibration input and for controlling the vibration profiles during testing.

Quantum Accelerometer
A quantum accelerometer uses atom interferometry to measure accelerations along a horizontal axis. Quantum accelerometers are able to achieve a combination of sensitivity and stability by exploiting quantum interference. As such, they will be critical components of a quantum inertial navigation unit, which will offer satellite-free navigation with unparalleled long-term accuracy. A phase locked SolsTiS system underpins this setup and provides the extremely low phase noise required to make high sensitivity measurements and dynamic frequency tunability to address multiple atomic transitions.

Servo type Accelerometer
A motion is sensed by a displacement detector, a current is fed to the coil to get back the pendulum mass to the original position. This current will be proportional to the acceleration, that is converted to an output voltage. The Servo type accelerometer is for the Earthquake Monitoring or measurements of micro tremor on the Civil Engineering Structures because of its higher sensitivity and stability or more accurate phase responses in the lower frequency range than those of other vibration transducers.

General Purpose Single Axis Accelerometers
Motion of a rigid body can be characterized within six degrees of freedom. Providing mechanical excitation to simulate this motion as may be encountered in the real world can entail a variety of test machines. There are various pound/force vibration shakers for structural testing. Regardless of the apparatus, the goal is always to ensure that the product under test can adequately perform, and reliably survive, in the environment in which it will be deployed, or to which it will be exposed during transport. PCB® accelerometers provide the measurement signals needed to control the vibratory input and to analyze the product’s reaction to such testing.
