Injection Transformer

The injection transformer is presently the prevalent method for connecting the network analyzer to the circuit being tested, and is primarily used for control loop stability measurements. The goal of the transformer is to inject a signal into the control loop being measured, without impacting the performance of the loop. In order to accomplish this to a reasonable degree, The transformer is isolated and therefore is capable of floating on a high voltage, such as a Power Factor Corrector (PFC), which is often close to 400VDC. Measuring voltages that exceed the voltage rating of the FRA inputs require attenuation probes.

TRM104 is a portable winding resistance meter, designed to work in live EHV switchyards. Winding resistance values of large transformers up to 500 MVA and rotating machines are directly displayed. The meter is protected against the back emf offered by large inductive winding. A back-lit 4 line LCD with a user-friendly menu sets up the instrument for the test. Winding resistances and safety messages are also shown on this display. It is possible to measure the resistance of two windings simultaneously.The meter contains a special power source for rapid stabilization of test results.

The Model T100U Trace-level SO2 analyzer has been developed specifically to address the challenges of low level monitoring as required, for example, in the US NCore network. It uses the proven UV fluorescence principle, and is designed to allow ultra-sensitive SO2 measurements while still meeting the requirements for use as a US EPA compliance analyzer.The analyzer uses both the light and dark phases of the pulsed UV light source to continuously detect and correct for electronic noise, giving exceptionally stable and sensitive performance. A separate UV detector allows the instrument to continuously correct for variations in lamp intensity. Exceptional stability is achieved with the use of an optical shutter to compensate for PMT drift, and a reference detector to correct for changes in UV lamp intensity. The esi SR1030 transfer standards consist of 12 equal steps. These steps are available in increments of 1 (SR1030-1), 10 (SR1030-10), 100 (SR1030-100), 1k (SR1030-1k), 10k (SR1030-10k) and 100k (SR1030-100k). The esi SR1030 provides four-terminal connections for each step or for series and parallel combinations of these resistance steps using the optional Series-Parallel (SPC102), Parallel Compensation Networks (PC101) and shorting bars (SB103). This improves power dissipation, stability and errors due to variance in temperature. The esi SR1010 and esi SR1030 are used for the same applications and are alike in configuration. The esi SR1030 differs from the esi SR1010 in that it is specially sealed, and values below 100 k are filled with oil to improve changes due to thermal variations.
