Event Detector
The Event Detector automatically extracts sound events from an entire sound file according to the user's event specifications. The user digitizes sound data into a continuous sound file, then configures the Event Detector for the events of interest. Detection is based on spectral, temporal, and amplitude criteria. The detector scans the entire file, identifying the desired events and extracting them to individual sound files or measuring their parameters. Detected events can be immediately analyzed in SIGNAL to measure, count, compare, classify, time-stamp, and store sound events and sound parameters. The Event Detector is a module inside SIGNAL and requires SIGNAL to operate.

Event counter is sleek system used to keep track of events. Event counter system is an independent unit with LED, event and reset buttons used for user interface. User generated events are displayed by LED (seven segment display scheme). Event counter Board consists of Microcontroller, counters, monostable multivibrator, transmitters & receivers (RX232, RX422). Event button is used to increment the events and reset button is used to reset the count value. Events are displayed on seven segment display mechanism for visual analysis. Event counter unit starts count from 000 and counts upto 999 events on pressing the event push button. The PCI-Express 32 digital I/O board APCIe-1500 has 32 digital inputs/outputs (24 V or 12 V), 14 inputs are interruptible. The 16 digital power outputs are equipped with protection diodes and filters. The board is fully compatible to the PCI board APCI-1500. It is especially suited for applications like industrial I/O control, signal switching, ON/OFF monitoring of motors, lights etc. in the harsh industrial environment. The APCIe-1500 has interruptible inputs. They supersede continuous cyclical query processes (polling) for routine monitoring and evaluation tasks. This takes load off the processor and the software. At a change of state of the digital inputs the APCIe-1500 generates an interrupt, so that the system reacts on the event through the interrupt routine and herewith fulfils real-time criteria.
