QE system provides electronics and software designed for fully automated measurement of external quantum efficiency of solar cells. All systems include probes and a fixed plate sample stage for samples up to 150 mm x 150 mm. The main system components include: custom designed software, measurement electronics, and computer system (Windows 8 operating system). The measurement involves focusing monochromatic light to a spot on the device under test, then accurately measuring the photon flux and current from the test cell. The system utilizes a dual beam configuration with lock-in detection, providing an absolute accuracy of ±3%. The QE system uses a grating monochrometer with silicon/InGaAs/Ge detectors. The system includes automatic order sorting filters and two light sources for monochromatic illumination (a Xenon- arc lamp and a halogen lamp). A single lock-in amplifier is used to measure both the reference detector and test device. The main system comes with all the hardware needed to measure quantum efficiency, a fixed plate sample stage and probes.

Operationally, the sensor passes a white light beam through the stream to be monitored, where light absorbance is measured at two distinct wavelengths. The measuring wavelength is set to focus on or near the peak absorbance point of the “yellowness” curve, while the secondary wavelength is chosen to compensate for any influence due to light scattering (window fouling, particulate, immiscible fluids, gas bubbles, etc.). The powerful display allows users to group the devices in a simple device tree, Device/Port/Type, or Bus/Device/Function numbers. All register field descriptions are displayed by selecting the individual fields. Each register value in a single PCIe component's register can be read and if writable can be modified. The user can decode and change each bit value of any register on the fly using the built-in the PCIe specification display referenced for all registers. The extended register for M-PCIe is also decoded and displayed for devices supporting that specification. The PCIe/NVMe configuration space info on one system can be saved and later compared to a different system by loading a saved configuration onto a second system. Searching is available for locating PCIe devices. Other features include Auto Scan, Configuration Space View, Specification decoding for standard registers. O Series
The O Series combines high performance with a small x-ray spot size. This is made possible by the poly-capillary focusing optics system that replaces the collimator assembly installed in standard Bowman systems. The optics are designed to focus the x-rays coming from the tube exit window to a very small spot size (80μm FWHM) while retaining virtually 100% of the tube flux. So instead of attenuating the x-rays that can’t fit through the small apertures, as is the case with collimator systems, the poly-capillary optics assembly allows almost all of the x-rays from the tube to reach the sample. The result is much greater sensitivity for testing very small components or thin coatings. Shorter test times can achieve even better repeatability when comparing optics systems vs. a similar sized collimator.
