Despite its miniature size, the Thru-Beam Type (EX-L211) can detect minute objects with a diameter of just 0.3mm, and the Spot Reflective Type (EX-L221) can even detect gold wire whose diameter is a mere 0.01mm. To facilitate solving application tasks, these sensors come equipped with a Potentiometer and two indicator LEDs. For the Thru-Beam Type, reflective material on the receiver allows users to visualize the laser beam, easing beam-axis alignment.

This sensor is an extremely accurate digital (I2C interface) temperature and humidity sensing device, with +/-0.2C temperature and +/-2% humidity accuracy typical. These specs far exceed the accuracy of ICs that came before it, including the HTU2x and SHT1x series, and improves upon the success of the SHT2x that came before it. In addition, the SHT31-DIS-B has a wide input voltage range of 2.4V-5.5V and includes temperature isolation and airflow cutouts as recommended for the optimal operation. Finally, in the case of environmental changes that could cause light condensation, the SHT31-DIS-B has a built-in heater to burn off any condensate.

Each sensor outputs voltage between 0V and 3.3V depending on the level of ambient light shining on it. As more light is applied on the sensor, more current will flow from the board through the signal tab to the microcontroller you connect the sensor to. If the sensor receives no light, no current will flow through it. In a typical indoor lighting situation, the sensor will output around 1 to 2V. This logger sensor is based on measuring the partial vacuum pressure in a tensiometer. A tensiometer is a closed tube with a special ceramic part in its end. The tensiometer is filled with water and put in the soil. If the soil is dry, water goes out by diffusion through the ceramic holes and partial vacuum pressure is created in the tensiometer. When we wet the soil, the partial vacuum in the tensiometer pulls water into the tensiometer and the vacuum decreases. This is why soil moisture is measured in pressure level.
