Each leak standard is meticulously manufactured to a specific leak or flow rate at a predetermined pressure. The Pistonphone - a mechanical sound source - offers a slightly higher degree of accuracy at a substantial increase in cost. In addition, the 200 or 250 Hz operating frequency is mechanically limited and not suited for measurements of filtered inputs. The 0.2 dB accuracy is quickly lost in the 0.7 to 1.5 dB tolerances acceptable for weighting filters at frequencies around 250 Hz.

Pressure Test Pump is a hand operated pressure pump designed to generate pressure from 95% vacuum to 1,500psi (100bar). A high-quality screw press is designed for fine pressure adjustment, with an adjustment resolution up to 10 Pa (0.1 mbar). A specially designed shut-off valve makes the pressure as stable as possible during calibration. A built-in gas-liquid isolator protects the pump from moisture and dirt to reduce the need for maintenance.
