Matrix Switch Module
The 65-280-314 16x16 matrix is part of the 65-280 and 65-281 ranges of optical plug-in modules offering matrix & insert/bypass or multiplexer & SPST topologies respectively with all models based on MEMS fiber optic switches and available in various populations per plugin. In addition, a choice of different connector styles to suit most applications is offered: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC, SC/PC and ST for general applications and LC for high density applications. They use MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) based optical switches to route signals between terminals by redirecting the optical signal. This is achieved using micromechanical mirrors driven by a highly precise mechanism activated via an electrical control signal.

Multiplexer Module
The 40-735 data communications multiplexer is designed for switching the data lines of serial interfaces (RS232, USB). Careful attention to the design of the module ensures that the switching system minimizes its impact on the transmission distance of USB1.1 interfaces. The MUX is available in 36:1 or 18:1 formats and enables a single source of serial data to be switched to one of 36 or 18 devices under test. This allows the data source to load information to, or receive information from, the device under test. The 36:1 version can be software configured into two independent 18 way MUXs enabling two separate sources of serial data to be connected to separate banks of 18 devices. The module is ideal for performing bulk testing of any device that relies on a serial data communications port to load software or control the device operation. It can also be used for a variety of other applications where ever a 2-pole low power MUX is required.

A Media Gateway is a networking device that provides valuable and essential functions for organizations, service providers, and network operators. When interconnecting traditional time-division-multiplexed (TDM) telephony systems with modern voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) systems, a VoIP media gateway works by providing protocol conversion (translation) and interoperability between the two network technologies. Also known as an IP media gateway or SIP media gateway, the device converts a traditional analog plain-old-telephone-system (POTS) voice signal or related digital telephony signals such as T1, DS3, STM1 or OC3 into packets for transmission over a data network such as the Internet, private IP Network or a corporate LAN. When the legacy system is based on digital integrated services digital network (ISDN) technology, the device may be called a digital VoIP gateway or ISDN media gateway. Multiplexer Module
The module is based on the latest micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) switching technology and has low insertion loss and VSWR. In addition, MEMS devices have a long operational life of >3 billion operations and benefit from an operating time of <20 μs allowing greater test system throughput. The multiplexers have excellent and repeatable RF characteristics beyond 4 GHz with each path having a nominally equal insertion loss.
