BK Mikro TK8A is a scanner designed mainly for broken tool detection inside the tool changer of machining centers adding little or no additional cycle time. The controller stores up to 512 different tool lengths in memory and is controlled using 24vdc M-Code/Macro I/O combinations, Profibus, Profinet or DeviceNet. The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 15 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.15 and 25.4 degrees

These devices scan their environment using a quickly-rotating laser measurement beam. This allows them to detect objects even at long distances. With an opening angle of 190° and a measurement distance of up to 65 m, the laser scanner can monitor an area of one hectare. Object detection occurs in parallel in up to 4 detection fields. Convenient configuration software RODsoft permits the parameterization of 8 detection field pairs and 4 detection fields. The status output takes place via a serial interface and an optional warning output. Should service be necessary, the device can be swapped out and put back into operation extremely quickly thanks to the ConfigPlug configuration memory.

The system can check tools whose lengths vary as much as 22 inches from the shortest to longest in the changer. Each of the 512 different tools can have individual tolerance ranges set varying between 0.05 and 25.4 degrees. This equates to as little as a 0.38mm difference in tool length variation that can be detected using a 500mm long wand.

The HV200/5 is a high-precision HV-amplifier designed for the control of tube scanners. It takes three input voltages In X, In Y and In Z (-10 V to + 10 V), amplifies them separately (input gain switches: x1, x2, x5, x10, x20) and adds an offset voltage between -10 V and +10 V. In a 2nd stage, the signal is amplified by a factor of 20. This enables its use as HV amplifier in scanning image acquisition applications, such as STM or AFM, with the capability to shift the scan range in high resolution imaging.
