Matrix Switch Module
This version of our BRIC is part of a range of high-density PXI matrix modules. With this high level of switching density, these PXI matrix modules allow a complete Functional ATE system to be housed in a single 3U PXI chassis. Switch Module
Pickering PXI Fiber Optic MEMS Switching cards are available in many high density formats with a choice of 5 different connector styles to suit most applications: FC/APC (for optimal performance), FC/PC and SC/PC for general applications and LC and MU for high density applications. Fiber optic multiplexers create a signal path by redirecting the optical signal into a selected output fiber. This is achieved using Micro-Mechanical Mirrors driven by a highly precise mechanism and activated via an electrical control signal.

The matrix may be operated and wired individually for up to 16 8x2's per chassis, or jumpered to the backplane to form up to a 128x2 two pole matrix. The Worlds highest density 2-pole single slot 3U PXI Matrix Module, the 40-581has 264 crosspoints configured as a 2-pole 33x8 matrix. The use of high density electromechanical relays means that the 40-581 is a low cost high density matrix solution with current handling up to 1 Amp. The 40-581 module is suitable for matrix applications where two signals are required to be switched simultaneously, for example send and return signals in a telecoms system.
