Large Photo Signal Generator
DDS9m
170MHz 4-Channel Signal Generator. The DDS9m generates four independent, phase synchronous sine wave output signals and is programmable in 0.1Hz steps from 0.1Hz to 171MHz. Programming is via an RS232 serial interface. Phase is 14-bit programmable and amplitude is 10-bit programmable. The DDS9m is accurate to 1.5ppm when using the on board TCXO timebase or you can use an external timebase. It requires 3.3 VDC power. SOF8_409 windows software is available as an extra cost accessory.

A combination of FPGA+DSP on the board realizes the video processing between 4x 1080P video inputs. Supporting 4 video inputs simultaneously (2x DVI-D, 1x LVDS and 1x PAL), VP65001 can display the processed video through DVI-D or transmit the output through SRIO in the rear I/O to other cards. First released by Intel in June 2013, the Enhanced Serial Peripheral Interface (“eSPI”) is designed as a replacement for the Low Pin Count (“LPC”) bus. eSPI supports communication between Embedded Controller (EC), Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), Super-I/O (SIO) and Port-80 debug cards. eSPI was available in the Sky Lake chipset (2015) and is available in the Kaby Lake [current] chipset. Cannonlake will support eSPI and is slated for release the second half of 2017. Icelake is scheduled for release in 2019 and it will mark the first chipset when eSPI becomes mandatory.

The 7402e low profile PCI Express serial interface provides four serial ports, each individually field-configurable for RS-422 or RS-485 communications. The board uses a 16C954 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is register compatible with legacy 16550 software applications. In addition, the board derives a 62.5 MHz clock from the PCI Express link. This ultra-high speed clock is divided by a flexible 8-bit clock prescalar with 1/8 steps to provide support for the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.

The 40-735 data communications multiplexer is designed for switching the data lines of serial interfaces (RS232, USB). Careful attention to the design of the module ensures that the switching system minimizes its impact on the transmission distance of USB1.1 interfaces. The MUX is available in 36:1 or 18:1 formats and enables a single source of serial data to be switched to one of 36 or 18 devices under test. This allows the data source to load information to, or receive information from, the device under test. The 36:1 version can be software configured into two independent 18 way MUXs enabling two separate sources of serial data to be connected to separate banks of 18 devices. The module is ideal for performing bulk testing of any device that relies on a serial data communications port to load software or control the device operation.
