Input/Output Module
The C Series Counter Input Module features flexible, 32-bit counters. You can configure each channel to read a single pulse train or combine them to read up to four incremental encoders. You can also directly connect sensors with open-collector or push-pull outputs by using an internal, switchable pull-up resistor. Additionally, you can use the C Series Counter Input Module to perform encoder position and velocity measurements as well as to synchronize the counters with other analog, digital, and counter measurements in your chassis.The C Series Counter Input Module includes the NI-DAQmx driver and configuration utility that simplify configuration and measurements. NI-DAQmx supports NI programming environments as well as Python, ANSI C, C#.NET, and MathWorks MATLAB® software.

Positive Displacement (PD) flow meters are volumetric flow measurement instruments ideal for low flow rates, highly viscous fluids, and measurement of flows involving starts and stops or pulsing. Positive displacement flow meters are similar in design to the gear pump. The principle of operation is reversed however; instead of the gears driving the fluid, the fluid drives the gears. A non-intrusive hall-effect sensor detects the movement of the gear and as each gear tooth passes the sensor, a square wave pulse is produced and a discrete volume of liquid is measured. The resulting pulse train is proportional to the actual flow rate and provides a highly accurate representation of the fluid flow.
