The SonarMite+ App is based on the free SonarMite App but offering additional features. The software is an Android App designed to work with the popular SonarMite Bluetooth Echo Sounder used in hydrographic surveying applications. With the demise of Hyperterminal as a standard terminal application the end user is left with little choice for a simple communications program with serial data devices. Connecting via Bluetooth is cleaner than USB cable, there are no wires and the connection is independent of baud rate and other serial port settings. Most terminal programs are not easily configured with commands to directly interface with instruments such as SonarMite.

The RF One Power Meter is a very versatile instrument covering both analog and digital carriers in an extremely wide frequency range from 30MHz to 6GHz. The RF One is capable of measuring forward and reflected power in the range of a few milliwatts up to 500 Watts. The internal operating system controls measurement, display and the I/Os allowing serial communication to PC, USB to memory stick and USB Serial communication. The I/O options are used to write plots to either memory sticks or to a connected PC, the I/Os can also be used to operate the instrument, giving commands and receiving data. For documentation reference the instrument has a real time clock. Multilayer menus are used to setup and control the operation of parameters. The RF One instrument is small, handy and light weight battery operated with more than 3 hours of continuous operation on the internal NiMh cells. First released by Intel in June 2013, the Enhanced Serial Peripheral Interface (“eSPI”) is designed as a replacement for the Low Pin Count (“LPC”) bus. eSPI supports communication between Embedded Controller (EC), Baseboard Management Controller (BMC), Super-I/O (SIO) and Port-80 debug cards. eSPI was available in the Sky Lake chipset (2015) and is available in the Kaby Lake [current] chipset. Cannonlake will support eSPI and is slated for release the second half of 2017. Icelake is scheduled for release in 2019 and it will mark the first chipset when eSPI becomes mandatory.
