Introduced for the majority of researchers doing typical electrochemical experiments, this entire series gained a key improvement in 2018. As of August 1st, 2018, all VersaSTAT models have ± 2 Amp capability standard. Users can now study larger samples at faster rates.

Ametek Scientific Instruments

Potentiostats control a voltage and measure a resulting current. The Control Amplifier outputs power to the counter electrode (also called auxiliary electrode). A feedback loop is established to control the cell potential between the reference and working electrode. This voltage is measured by the input electrometer, that has a high impedance. This current is then measured between the working and counter electrodes while this potential is maintained at the working electrode and reference electrode.

12XX Series - Ametek Scientific Instruments

The 12xx Series Potentiostats has two current models: the 1287A and 1280Z. This family of potentiostats communicate through trusted GPIB interface technology that can convert to USB for easy connection modern computers. The Solartron Analytical 1287A and 1280Z are often driven by CorrWare software for DC testing, such as Cyclic Voltammetry, and ZPLOT for AC testing, such as Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy.
