So-called solar simulators are used to heat artificial satellites and their component parts in a vacuum for the purpose of environmental testing. Applications such as these have expanded to the field of space research. It is important to know that there are completely different types of solar simulators, each with various specifications for diverse applications. Solar simulators can be separated into flashed, continuous and pulsed types for fast results, realistic testing and photovoltaic testing.
