Load Cells
Instron is the only testing system manufacturer that designs and builds its own load cells, ensuring exceptional accuracy, stiffness, and alignment across a wide measurement range. Produced at Instron’s High Wycombe, UK facility, each load cell is temperature-compensated and calibrated to international standards for outstanding repeatability. Backed by the largest commercial deadweight stack in the U.S., Instron’s calibration process delivers precision that often exceeds industry requirements—providing reliable, traceable performance for even the most demanding materials testing applications.

Static Load Cells (500 N to 600 kN)
2580 Series
-
The Instron 2580 Series static load cells are high-precision force transducers optimized for use with 5900 and 6800 Series universal testing systems, capable of measuring loads across a wide range (up to ±600 kN) with accuracy to 0.5 % of reading and sensitivity down to 1/1000th of full scale. Temperature-compensated and calibrated on equipment traceable to international standards, they have automatic recognition with an electronic serial number and support electronic calibration, while offering overload protection (up to 150 % without damage, 300 % without mechanical failure). The 2580’s design delivers high stiffness and reliable alignment under load—making it a robust choice for tension, compression, cyclic, and reverse stress testing in materials and components.

Static Load Cells (5 N to 300 kN)
2530 Series
-
The Instron 2530 Series static load cells are precision force transducers engineered for versatile use in tension, compression, cyclic, and reverse stress testing, delivering accurate measurements down to 1/500th of their capacity. Individually temperature-compensated and calibrated, they support automatic recognition and electronic calibration, and are built to international force-measurement standards (ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1 class 0.5, and JIS B7721, B7733). With overload protection (150 % of rating without damage, 300 % without mechanical failure), the 2530 family offers consistent, repeatable performance across a wide force range (5 N to 300 kN).2530 Series load cells with capacities of 5 N to 100 N are for use with 3300, 3400, 5900, and 6800 Series testing systems.2530 Series Load cells with capacities of 500 N to 300 kN are for use with 3300 and 3400 Series testing systems.

Dynacell Load Cells
2527 Series
-
Dynacell is the world's first truly dynamic load cell, designed from the outset for measuring dynamic loads. Dynacell introduces the following advantages: *Reduces dynamic load errors which can be a significant percentage of reading*Increases productivity by allowing higher frequency operation while maintaining test validity *Improvements such as doubling the frequency are common

Bi-axial Dynacell Load Cells
2527 Series

During tests carried out on servohydraulic machines, elements of the system are subject to acceleration. As a result, in addition to the force applied to the specimen, the load cell also reads forces resulting from its own movement and the mass of the grips and fixtures attached to it. Dynacell is the world's first truly dynamic load cell, designed from the outset for measuring dynamic loads. Dynacell introduces the following advantages:*Reduces dynamic load errors which can be a significant percentage of reading *Increases productivity by allowing higher frequency operation while maintaining test validity *Improvements such as doubling the frequency are common
