MEMS Tunable Filter
Optoplex’s MEMS Tunable Optical Filter is based on a patented micro-optic design with MEMS tuning technology. It is an integrated module consisting of a MEMS chip, micro-optics and control electronics and interface. When receiving a stream of optical signals of a plurality of wavelengths from the Input-Port (IN), the 2-port tunable optical filter directs a selected channel to the Output-Port (OUT). Wavelength (frequency) tuning is achieved by changing driving voltage applied to the MEMS chip, via the control electronics and the built-in firmware.

The Pistonphone - a mechanical sound source - offers a slightly higher degree of accuracy at a substantial increase in cost. In addition, the 200 or 250 Hz operating frequency is mechanically limited and not suited for measurements of filtered inputs. The 0.2 dB accuracy is quickly lost in the 0.7 to 1.5 dB tolerances acceptable for weighting filters at frequencies around 250 Hz.

General Purpose Basic Carrier Demodulator

The CD15 Sine Wave Carrier Demodulator operates with variable reluctance transducers to provide a DC output signal for dynamics as well as steady state measurements. A 5kHz sine wave excitation is applied to the two inductance ratio arms of the transducer and the resulting output is demodulated and amplified using the latest integrated circuit techniques. The DC output is obtained from an active filter circuit and gives a uniform response from steady state to 1000 Hz. The low impedance sine wave excitation allows operation with the transducer located over 1,000 feet from the CD15.

The PI-41702 is a four channel bipolar DC Bias supply that can provide an output current up to 100 mA per channel. The output voltage ranges from –8 V to +8 V, and this card has special filter circuitry to reduce the output noise for those applications that require a low noise bias output. Additionally there is a ‘D’ type connector that allows the introduction of laboratory type supplies to reduce the noise further.
